Neighbourhood Watch (NHW)
A network of schemes made up of local residents who keep an eye out for any unusual, suspicious or criminal activity being committed and pass that information to the Police and other service providers. Schemes are set up all over the North of Hampshire; there are about 580 schemes.
Road Signs
NHW provides a further deterrent to crime and criminals by using NHW signs, normally erected on lamp posts or displayed on properties, which should alert potential criminals that they are being watched and could be reported to the Police.
Volunteers
Each scheme is headed by a volunteer coordinator who is responsible for circulating various crime reports from the Police and others to each member of their scheme.
